Hello world. The following was written 3/27/2015.
Looking at addictions this morning. The addiction some have to being a teacher believing their way is the only way, social media, cell phones, texting, violent videos of fighting, killing, destruction and mainstream media propaganda. We talk about addictions in the context of drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. Yet, we do not talk about these other addictions which can be just as dangerous, if not more so. Drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes all work on the body. These other items I mentioned work on the mind and one’s emotions. They destroy the mind from within. They plant seeds of the most negative aspects of our culture and condition one to become desensitized to the world in general. The more we focus on the hate, violence and vitriol the more we manifest it in our own lives.
This is brainwashing at its finest. We brainwash ourselves into believing we are in charge and would know what is right for us and the rest of the world. If only the world would follow us and our dictates. In truth we are lying to ourselves with this line of belief. Little by little we find ourselves pulled to that cell phone or computer. Got to check that email, text, FB post, tweet, blah, blah, blah. We place more importance on those things then we do the human life sitting beside us. When did another’s words become more important than our own internal guidance? When did we stop caring about anyone or anything other then the next text or post?
“We” as a people no longer try to connect on a personal level with one another. We are terrified to reach out to one another sharing and expressing our true thoughts, feelings, and emotions as we are going through them. We hide behind a false façade so none may see what is really in our hearts and minds. Even this hiding is an addiction.
Constantly fighting to keep hidden and secret what is truly in your heart. Fears of being judged by others for what you are judging in yourself. These addictions are choices. Just as with drugs and alcohol these things are silent killers that kill the Soul within. Stabbing, slicing and dicing it to shreds. Mutilating every inch within reach just to try and be as they see others. Copying the plans of your own destruction. All because they said so. Listening to and following everyone around you is an addiction.
Welcome to being an addict. Now do what I say and follow me or else!
No thank you. I prefer the company of myself and Holy Spirit. He shall clear my mind and heart of all misconceptions, so I am following Him from within.
